Caroline Egwujakpo Apeh (nee Erharhine) was born to the family of Edomame Awaritakpor and Patrick Erharhine on the 27th of November 1951 in Oha, Delta State. She was raised by her late aunty Chief Mrs Comfort Ayeni. She attended St. Luke’s primary School Jos, Plateau State and St. Faith Secondary School Kawu, Kaduna State. On completion of her education, she moved to Kano State, Nigeria where she worked with the Government Coastal Agency Kano International Airport. She married Mr. Joseph Terngu Apeh in 1976 and was subsequently blessed with two children: Tersoo Edward Apeh and Ediri Elizabeth Apeh. In 1980, the family moved back to Jos, Plateau State where she started and successfully pursued her passion for business by setting up Morning Ferry - a popular eatery in the central business district of Jos, Plateau State in 1981. Her resilience coupled with a peace-loving and friendly disposition shone through all her endeavours and endeared her to many. Her restaurant grew in popularity and earned a reputation of being the place where one’s body and soul were fed and replenished. Madam Caro, as she was fondly called, had a deep love of God and spent a great deal of her time in personal and group Bible study. She was an active member of the St. Pirans Anglican Church Jos, Plateau State where she served in the Women’s fellowship and the Sweet Sisters, until she went to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the 11.03.11. She will be greatly missed and remembered by many who were privileged to know and experience her love and desire for the peaceful co-existence of people.
